• GWWA donated $500 for relief effort to Haiti.

• Many thanks to those who supported the Black History Month event that was co-hosted with the Williamsburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

• GWWA members are  sadden to hear Lisa R. Coston, mezzo soprano died. She participated in the GWWA fundraiser held at the Kimball Theater on March 21, 2009

• Members (Alvene, Earleen, Diane & husband John, Barb, Catherine Marilyn) volunteered for the "Stop Hunger Now" project. 46,224 meals were packed.  Each packet was to feed 6 people thus over 7,700 packs were made.
